Hello! I’m Sarah Elliott and the Evangelism Co-Ordinator of CU this year! I’m a final year English student from Lurgan where I studied at Lurgan College and went to Newmills Presbyterian Church, which I continue to attend today. I love spending my time with other people, especially with the family and friends that I have and am so very thankful for. I also love to travel to new places and, as a typical English student, a good book is often in hand!

However, being a Christian, is definitely the biggest part of my life. Knowing God has filled me with such joy. As 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, be thankful in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”, I know I always have a reason to be singing. Since coming to university, CU has massively influenced my faith, it has been deepened and strengthened it in so many ways.

Street evangelism and reaching people in Belfast who have not heard the incredible news of the gospel, has been placed on my heart for a while now. There is so much brokenness in this world and I’ve been really challenged that if the message of the gospel is something I truly believe then I should put in every effort to share it. Although I was initially sceptical of my own ability to chat to people with big questions about Christianity, I’ve come to realise that it is God’s strength that I must rely on and not my own. What an honour and how amazing that, even in our weaknesses, we are called to serve Him every day!
